- History:
- Way back when, Mikhail Rasputin took over leadership of the Morlocks. For one reason or other, he ended up teleporting the lot of them to an alternate dimension, where he created a hard, fight or die type of society. Eventually, these Morlocks found their way back to Earth 616, but found that much less time had passed here than in the dimension they just came from. These former Morlocks were hardened fighters now, and formed a new terrorist group called Gene Nation. Led by Marrow, Gene Nation ransacked human establishments, killing dozens of people, before being stopped by the X-Men.
Much later, Cable formed an Underground resistance movement to fight against Weapon X. Things didn't work out, and he left the group. Marrow, however, stepped in to fill the leadership void and formed a new Gene Nation with the Underground soldiers.
